Last night I “worked” while making dinner.
Earlier in the day, I filled a prescription for a patient for a migraine medication. I had been providing samples to her that has worked wonders. Today she finally started her insurance and could get a prescription.
While making dinner, I received a text. “My migraine is awful and insurance is denying this prescription. It is building quick. Is there anything else we can do?!”
My onions were sautéing so I had a minute. I hopped onto my computer, filled out an electronic prior authorization and within 5 minutes, the medication was approved and she was able to go pick it up.
She texted back, “I just called. It’s $0! I am almost crying. So glad to have this! Now I don’t have to be in bed with this horrible headache!”
