We’ve got some exciting news to share! Our very own Family Nurse Practitioner, Farah Myers, FNP, DiPACLM has just completed the American College of Lifestyle Medicine Diplomate certification! That’s right, she’s been working harder than a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest, and we’re so proud of her.
Now, I know what you’re thinking, “What in the world is Lifestyle Medicine?” Well, let me tell you. It’s a medical specialty that uses lifestyle changes to treat chronic conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. We’re talking about eating more plants, moving your body, getting good sleep, managing stress, avoiding bad habits, and making positive social connections. It’s like a recipe for a healthier, happier life.
With this certification, Farah is now a certified expert in helping our patients live their best lives. She can provide personalized care that gets to the root of health issues, not just putting a Band-Aid on them. And let me tell you, the results speak for themselves. Patients who make these lifestyle changes see big improvements in their health and well-being. It’s like turning over a new leaf, but without all the raking.
Research shows that lifestyle medicine can prevent, treat, and even reverse chronic diseases [1]. It can also boost mental health, reducing things like depression, anxiety, and stress [2]. And if that wasn’t enough, adopting healthy habits can add years to your life [3]. It’s like finding the fountain of youth, but without all the mosquitoes.
We’re so excited to see the positive impact that Farah’s new certification will have on our patients and our community. So, join us in giving her a big round of applause and maybe a high-five or two. She’s earned it!
